It is probably a symptom of our times that so much of the work I provide in schools at the moment is analysing curriculum, finances, and staffing structures in order to identify savings and to create new and sustainable approaches. In many ways it goes back to my first role in senior leadership (1998, Crown Woods School in Greenwich), which required me to do exactly this in order to sort out the financial problems we had there; sad that we are once again grappling with these same serious challenges. However, I hope that the 25+ years experience of successfully tackling these problems means that I am providing really positive assistance to the school and trusts with whom I am working.
