Wonderful news that the Regional Director has approved academy orders for St Peter’s Centre in Surrey and Maudsley and Bethlem Hospital School in Southwark; these will now be the founding schools of The Goldfinch Trust in September 2025. It is unusual for small provision to be approved as a new trust, but the specialist nature of the work of the schools involved, the potential for this new trust to grow, and the impact that this trust will have on the lives of many young people, means that it will very quickly become a very powerful advocate for and provider of education for medical and mental health needs. I am excited to continue supporting this exceptional development.
